Data recovery & device exchange

Recover what matters.
Understand the exchange.

CoreRevive assesses broken or non-working desktop PCs and laptops to determine whether their storage can be accessed and personal files can potentially be recovered.

Under this offer, you exchange your broken PC or laptop for a data-recovery and storage solution. The device is surrendered to CoreRevive and will not be returned, whether recovery succeeds or not.

Important — please read before proceeding.
By accepting this exchange, you agree to surrender ownership and possession of the PC or laptop to CoreRevive. It will not be returned even if no usable data can be recovered. Please proceed only if you understand and accept this condition.

How the exchange works

STEP 01

Assessment

We assess whether the internal storage can be accessed and whether recovery may be possible.

STEP 02

Recovery attempt

If the drive is accessible, we attempt to recover readable files.

STEP 03

Storage solution

If data is successfully recovered, it is transferred to an external HDD.

STEP 04

Device exchange

You pay for the supplied HDD and USB enclosure/casing. The original device remains with CoreRevive.

What if no data can be recovered?

If the storage cannot be accessed or no usable files can be recovered, the attempt stops. There is:

  • No labour charge.
  • No data-recovery charge.
  • No charge for an HDD or enclosure that was not supplied.
  • No external storage supplied.

The PC or laptop still remains with CoreRevive under the agreed exchange.

When standard recovery may not work

Severe physical drive damage, failed components, encryption, or other specialist issues may prevent standard recovery. Where specialist laboratory work may be an option, it is separate from this offer and will be quoted separately before any such work.

Recoverable files may include

What we can attempt to recover

  • Documents and work files
  • Photos and videos
  • Music and personal files
  • Accessible email and data files
  • Desktop and Downloads folders
  • Other accessible personal data

Recovery is not guaranteed. We can only transfer data that remains accessible and readable from the storage device. We cannot promise that every file or folder will be recovered.

Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions

Can you recover data from a PC or laptop that won't turn on?

Possibly. If the storage drive itself is still accessible, data may be recoverable even when the computer does not power on. We assess the device first; recovery is not guaranteed.

What happens if my hard drive or SSD is damaged?

It depends on the type and severity of damage. If the drive cannot be accessed through standard recovery, we will explain the limitation. Specialist laboratory recovery, if appropriate, is separately quoted and is not included in this offer.

What happens if you can't recover my data?

No labour or data-recovery fee is charged, and no HDD or enclosure is supplied or charged for. The original PC or laptop remains with CoreRevive under the device-exchange agreement.

Do I get my broken PC or laptop back?

No. The device is surrendered to CoreRevive as part of the exchange and will not be returned, whether recovery succeeds or not. Please make sure you accept this condition before handing it over.

Do I need to provide an external HDD?

No. If data is successfully recovered, CoreRevive supplies an external HDD and USB enclosure/casing. You pay for those supplied items only.

Will you recover everything from my device?

Not necessarily. We can only recover files that remain accessible and readable. Some files may be damaged, missing, encrypted or unrecoverable.
